Tips for Success
Knowledge is key: Take time to do some research about the company that you are going to interview with. Show the interviewer that you are interested in the company and have taken extra time to find out about the company and the position.
Practice makes perfect: Practice, practice, practice. Before it is time for the actual interview, take the time to work on answers for general questions that might be asked. Look on interview websites to locate questions frequently asked by employers, and practice your answers to be prepared.
Make yourself an asset: Know what would make you important to a company, and successfully support those qualifications. Ask questions of the interviewer that demonstrate you are interested in being a valuable employee.
Relax: Whether it is through practice, by participating in mock interviews, or through other means, try to remain calm and attentive during your interview. Remember the employer is interested in you and what you have to offer.
Professionalism is important: Dress for success. Professional business attire is generally the expected dress code for an interview. Personal hygiene and good manners should always be remembered. The image you portray during your interview will generally be the image the employer believes you will convey to their clients.
Follow-up: After completing the interview, send a follow-up letter or e-mail to the interviewer. Thank them for their time. Let them know that you are interested in working for their company and you look forward to hearing from them.
